Re: Fractalus 0.9.0 alpha released!

Boosters: As soon as the mothership is available, you can enable the boosters in every situation, even with open airlock and disabled systems. Nice find, didn't know this one - I had always made sure to turn my systems back on and take off before returning to the mothership! I'll add this to my lis...

Re: Fractalus 0.9.0 alpha released!

Do you have a list of missing things? If it helps, I can try to find differences and make a list of them. I really love Rescue on Fractalus since the first time I played it about 30 years ago. Would love to help you with the remake. :) I do have a list of things to implement in the remake, but ther...

Re: Fractalus 0.9.0 alpha released!

Welcome to the forum David! In the original version, I had it set that the pilot would not leave his/her ship if you landed too far away -- I think the message "PILOT TOO FAR" would appear. So my assumption was that the shields were powerful enough that they overlapped the pilot-run-safe-distance --...

Re: Fractalus 0.9.0 alpha released!

Thanks for testing it on the Vive and great to hear it works, even though the controls don't really work with it. At night the mountains are supposed to be barely visible, so it sounds like the Vive's display is better or more accurate than the Rift's, at least for displaying dark areas :) The cockp...

Re: Fractalus 0.9.0 alpha released!

I was surprised as well by how well it turned out, while testing it out I found myself flying through valleys and looking out of the side windows to check down side passages for pilots or turrets. Also did some sideways flight around mountain peaks and made myself dizzy :) I did notice that the dust...

Re: Fractalus 0.9.0 alpha released!

Thanks for the bug reports! I'll answer them after this: I've got some good news - I got VR working! Sort of. You can get the VR test build from http://downloads.gcloud.lsdwa.com/projects/fractalus/proto/fractalus-0.9.1-vrtest-19w12a-win64.zip . Extract it to a different folder to the normal Fractal...

Re: Fractalus 0.9.0 alpha released!

If I get a chance this weekend I'll look into toggling on VR in Fractalus (I've only tested VR in a separate test project so far) and see if it works as easily there. As I mentioned there will be a bit more work to be done for the camera system, and as you've mentioned there may be issues with the U...

Re: Fractalus 0.9.0 alpha released!

Hey Loaf, Yep the blog requires approval for comments. I set it to require approval for comments a few years back just to counteract the amount of automated spam that got posted - though since Google switched over to the "I'm not a robot" captcha (and since I updated my blog to use it), I haven't ac...

Re: 0.8.0 feedback

Hi Loaf! Thanks for reminding me about the captcha issue on the forum. I'd been meaning to fix it but didn't get a chance to, and eventually forgot about it. I will probably need to update the forum itself at the same time, so I'll look into it soon. I'm actually in Perth, Australia, so almost on op...
